It's hard to believe it's already Friday again. Of course, it was a short week for me because I only worked two days. That was nice. The only reason I came back was because today is timesheet day and there's nobody to do them for me. Had a conference with my boss first thing. He said he was very pleased with my work and how I'm a team player, always trying to help others. I'm glad to help whenever I can. It seems there is a misunderstanding with my job title and my duties. The Power Delivery Supervisor thought I was supposed to be able to run the warehouse when the storekeepers are not there because my title is Material Handler/Timekeeper. They almost called me in to work on Wednesday because the storekeepers were both off and nobody showed up to open up the warehouse. I had to explain that the Material Handler part of my title was for the employees who worked at satellite warehouses and did both warehouse and timekeeping duties. I was not under the Warehouse supervisor, but in Power Delivery. My only duties are timekeeping; not warehouse. Years ago, just because I thought it would be fun to do, I took forklift training. But I've never actually used that training and I don't even think I could remember how to lift the forks, much less unload material. Misunderstandings like this happen when you hire people from other companies and they don't know the workings of your company. Because of Sarbanes/Oxley, the warehouse department doesn't want anybody touching their material. I just happen to have an office located in the warehouse. When they put me in that office years ago, I used to write up the requisitions for material whenever anybody needed anything. Now, everything is on computer, so the storekeepers input the info as soon as they give out material. So, I have absolutely nothing to do with warehousing anymore.
Since I was so overwhelmed with timesheets, Kim went and got us lunch from a fairly new restaurant in town. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. We will definitely eat there or get something to go in the future.
I went yesterday at lunch to Calhoun's Carpets and found a laminate that I liked. It's not what I originally picked out from Home Depot, but I think it will work. It's called Royal Oak. The price wasn't 79 cents a sq. foot like Karen got, but it was $1.49, so that's cheaper than Home Depot. The guy also told me about a rubber mat that you can put down under it to soften the feel and keep it from being so loud when you walk on it. That's 45 cents a sq. foot. I think that's what I'd like to have instead of the thin foam they showed me at HD. I came home and filled Vance in on the info. He went to HD to get the installation kit and knee pads, but came home without either. They were sold out. Looks like a lot of people are installing flooring right now. He looked at some of the laminate and found some for 79 cents. I told him if he thought it was good, to get it instead. He said he'd check Lowe's tomorrow and we'd go get something when I got off work. He brought home some boxes, so I started packing up stuff to get ready to move furniture.
Today, Vance called and said he was going to get the laminate I picked out at Calhoun's Carpets. He said it was thicker and seemed sturdier than what they had at HD. He got the installation kit and knee pads and bought enough to do the living room and hallway, plus a jigsaw and only spent $800. Not bad. I've gotten vacation for all next week so I can help him. If we get through before the week is up, I'll go back to work. We packed up some more stuff and started moving out furniture. I think I'm going to get rid of the entertainment center. It's sagging where the TV sits and you can't open the door under the TV. I'm thinking of just putting another piece of furniture there to hold the TV until we can afford to get a nice TV cabinet.
I went and got us some supper. While we were eating, we saw the news report about the hanging of Saddam Hussein. I just hope that doesn't cause more terriorist attacks on the US. This week has seen several deaths of prominent people. James Brown died on Christmas Day, Former President Gerald Ford died yesterday and today Saddam Hussein.
Looks like Chad and Tabitha have found a house to buy. They started paperwork on it yesterday. God is really moving on their behalf. Tabitha said they should be able to move in before our birthdays in March. (Tabitha on the 16th, me on the 18th and Chad on the 25th) I think we should have a cookout at their house. It has a huge deck on the back of the house. I'm going to try and go by the house tomorrow and see what it looks like. I know it has three bedrooms and two baths, fenced in yard, workshop (that's what Chad wanted). I'm excited for them. And, it's not too far from us. It's about half way between our house and the church, so Trent won't have to change schools.
Well, I guess I better go to bed. I need to rest up before we start working on the floor. We'll probably move most of the furniture out tomorrow and pull up the carpet. Vance has to test to see if we need to put down a moisture barrier.
Good night and God Bless..............

Christmas is Over
It's hard to believe that Christmas has once again come and gone. All the hustle and bustle is over for another year. We had a great Christmas. All the family was here.
On Saturday, the 23rd, Tabitha and Trent came over to help me clean house. Trent vaccumed for me and did a great job. I think I'll hire him! Tabitha worked on the kitchen while I cleaned the bathroom and mopped the floor.
Vance, Michelle and Fox came over. Fox has grown and still is as cute as can be. And I'm not just saying that because he's my grandson. He really is adorable. If you don't believe me, check out his pictures at http://picasaweb.google.com/vance.rutherford Vance and Michelle cooked the mini stuffed pizzas while I took a shower. Around 4:00, we headed over to Skip and Brenda's to get together with Vance's family. We had a houseful. Good food (Trent said the blessing over the food), good fellowship and so much enjoyment watching the little ones open their gifts. Mac told us about his latest tests that show he is cancer free. We are so thankful to our Lord for healing him. He was able to stop radiation treatments early. What a blessing. God is so good!
On Sunday, I got up early and made potato salad. Vance had the turkey smoking overnight and the beans in the crockpot. Didn't make it to church because we were getting together at Chip's at 11:00 to eat. I agonized all night about what to do about my daddy. I carried him to Chip's last year and my mother had a fit and told me not to ever do it again; or at least let her know and she wouldn't be there. Well, Vance and I talked and we both agreed that he should be there. At 8:00, I called him. He said he didn't have time to get ready and he really didn't feel like going. I got off the phone crying because I should have called him yesterday. But, I didn't even think about it during the day cause of all that was going on. I felt it was my fault for not giving him enough notice. It really made me feel bad.
We went over to Chip's and had a good time. Of course, there was plenty of good food. I did real good and didn't overdo it, even though I wanted to go back for seconds. But, I made myself just get up and walk away from the table. We have a new crop of little ones, so it makes Christmas extra special. It's so much fun watching the kids open their presents. Vance and Michelle had to leave around 12:30 to get back to Tallahassee for their evening church services. I hated to see them go, but I understand. Vance is the Praise & Worship leader, so he had a lot of work to do.
Christmas Day, Vance and I just sat around the house and read books. He had given me a pair of satin pajamas and a robe for Christmas. The robe is soooo soft. I just love the feel of it. I lazed around in my pj's and robe until about 1:00, then changed and took my dad his present. As I started to go to his house, my car started acting up and I had to turn around and go back to the house and get Vance's truck. Don't know what's wrong with the car. It's done it before - it just won't go when you give it gas. Daddy loved his gift and told me that he just couldn't go and be around a crowd of people for two or three hours. He's used to be alone in his trailer and it's quiet except for the TV. He said his nerves just couldn't take it. I don't know if he was saying that to make me feel better or if it's the truth. He said he loved his kids and grandkids and everybody, but it makes him nervous. I stayed with him a couple of hours and came back home. Penny called and we talked about an hour. She was at home, too. It just doesn't feel like Christmas Day when you are staying at home. We're used to being all together on Christmas Day. I called and wished Mama a Happy Birthday. It's her 76th birthday.
After Vance went to bed, I decided to download the pictures from my cameras. I was sitting at my computer at 12:30 when I started getting dizzy. I went into the bathroom and started throwing up. Yep, another one of those spells. Had to lay down on the floor. Around 2:00, I started shaking uncontrollably. I was so cold. I got a towel and wrapped up in it, but that didn't really help. I was still throwing up every time I opened my eyes. By this time, I didn't have much left in my stomach to get rid of. It is such violent vomiting. Around 3:30, I got able to stand up and walk a little, so I went in the living room and got an afghan and pillow from the couch and my new robe. I put the robe on and laid down on the afghan and pillow after throwing up again. I finally stopped being dizzy around 5:00 and was able to move to the couch. I was off, so that was good. Vance had to go to work, but I stayed on the couch all day. I was so weak. I began to get hungry around noon, so I ate some grits. Daddy called and needed me to go to the grocery store, but I told him I couldn't cause I had had one of those attacks. I promised I would go the next day. Vance came home and he went to Captain D's and got us something to eat. The grilled salmon for me. No way was I going to try to eat fried fish!
Today, the 27th, I'm feeling a little better. Still pretty weak, but regaining my strength as the day progressed. Took the ornaments off my tree and put them away. Got dressed and waited for Vance to come home so I could use his truck to go to the grocery store for Daddy. Vance was taking my car to Wayne's shop to see if he could fix it. I got home from Daddy's and Vance said there was nothing wrong with my car. It didn't mess up, so they couldn't find out what was wrong with it. Just my luck! Now, I can't trust it. I've got to go back to work tomorrow, so I will have to drive it. I just pray that it doesn't mess up on me again. I've got a lot to do. My friend,Karen, called from Dothan and she told me to check out Calhoun's Carpets and they would beat the price of the laminate we are putting down in the house. She did her entire house (1600 sq. ft.) for $1500. It was going to cost between $1500 and $1800 just to do our living room. You can bet I'll be going to Calhoun's at lunch tomorrow. They may not have the exact pattern I picked out, but I'm sure they will have something that I like. I will probably buy enough to do the whole house. We can work on one room at a time over the next year. She said she and her brother did her whole house.
Well, it's getting late. I've already tried to go to bed once and couldn't sleep. I hope I can fall asleep now. Good night and God bless...............

Scatterbrained
Have you ever had one of those days? You know, when you can't seem to do anything right? Well, yesterday was one of those days for me.
I went to work as usual, but decided that I would take off at 11:00 and not go back until next Thursday. Next week is timesheet week, so I really need to be there to get my timesheets done.
I've been sick ever since I went shopping in those stores looking for ornaments and came in contact with all the potpourri and smelly candles. Now, I can take all that in moderation, but when you are bombarded with all those smells, it really attacks my sinuses. So, I got the sneezing, stuffy, achy head, coughing, no fever symptoms. It wore me out! I'm so much better now, thank the Lord. He always sees me through. Anyway, back to my story of why I took off. I needed to go shopping! I haven't done my Christmas shopping yet.
Daddy and I went to PoFolks for lunch since we didn't have to rush through our meal. It always takes longer at PoFolks. I went to the store for him and dropped him back off at home. One of the Engineers I work with told me that the new Target Super Store on the beach wasn't very busy because a lot of people don't even know it's open yet. It's way out on Back Beach Road almost to Hwy 79. But, I decided I was going shopping there. I'm so tired of all the traffic and crowds around town. You get in the parking lot, go shopping and then spend 45 minutes just trying to get out of the parking lot. I didn't want to do that. On the way to Target, I decided to stop at K-Mart on the beach. Got some good deals there and headed to Target. Wow! It's a huge store. It is at least as large, or possibly larger, as the one in Tallahassee. And this one also has a Starbucks in it. I did my shopping and checked out with a buggy load. As I made my way to the car, which was parked right up near the store, I realized I didn't have my keys. Now, I had been talking to myself at K-Mart to remember to get the keys cause Vance wouldn't want to drive all the way out to the beach to open my car door. Well, guess what?! My keys were laying on the armrest and I had to call him anyway. He didn't even know where Target was. I told him it was close to Hwy 79, so he said he'd come the back way from home. Go Hwy 77 to Hwy 389 to Hwy 79 in West Bay, then turn onto Back Beach Road. So, I pushed my buggy back into the store and headed for Starbucks. Got a Peppermint Mocha and sat down to wait. About 45 minutes later, Vance calls and says he's turning onto Back Beach Road. I walk out to the front of the store where he can see me. He is such a sweetheart. He never said how stupid I was. When I called, he just said "You do it all the time." Yeah, that's me. I get so scatterbrained, I lock my keys in the car and have to call somebody. Usually him. Last time, I couldn't get in touch with him, so I called a guy at work who called a locksmith that he does a lot of business with and they opened my car for free. I have their number listed in my cellphone just in case I can't get Vance. Anyway, Vance opened my door for me (he wouldn't trust the extra keys with me), kissed me and told me he was going to get a haircut. I had to stop for gas before I headed home. He was right about there not being any traffic. I got home in no time. Only saw a few cars on the road. It took me a lot less time to get home than it did to get to Target from town. I may be going there again since I know a back way. The only thing Vance said was that I needed to get a spare door key made and keep it in my purse. Yep, that's on the agenda for today.
Today is going to be a busy one. I've got a couple of more presents to buy, have to go by the Credit Union and get some cash, drop off pictures to have made for Christmas cards (yeah, I'm late as usual), color my hair (maybe I'll do that first thing in the morning), go to the grocery store, have a spare key made (think I'll go to the new Ace Hardware store and check it out). I'm sure I've forgotten something, but hopefully, I'll remember before the day is over. I've still got presents to wrap, the house to clean...... I'll never get it all done!!!
I'll let you know how it goes. Have a Blessed Christmas!

Tired and Funny Day
It's warm again today. Sure doesn't feel like it's almost Christmas. It's too hot to wear any of my Christmas sweatshirts or sweaters. It's very hard to get in the mood to go Christmas shopping when it's so warm. I'm still not in the mood and Christmas is less than two weeks away.
Yesterday was mine and Vance's 36th wedding anniversary. We didn't do anything special. He's still not feeling very good and I seem to be exhausted the last few days. I think I got messed up when I got more than 6 hours sleep a couple of days in a row. I just don't do well with that much sleep. It seems to make me lethargic the next day. I feel like I've been drugged. I do much better with only 4-5 hours sleep a night. But, I'm not alone. I talked to Tina today and she is the same way. She did the same thing over the weekend and got too much sleep. She said she's been feeling rotten this week, too. That's why I'm staying up till midnight tonight.
Today, Kim called and told me she had a customer call and say he was from a motel on the beach that has a overpass. They have put up a reindeer and snowman on the overpass and the glare from a street light is blocking the view. He wanted us to come out and turn off the street light. Well, that struck her as hilarious and she busted out laughing. I would have laughed, too. The man was very nice and said "that does sound obsurd, doesn't it?" She laughed again and told him if it was a street light that the city would have to turn it off. We can't turn off a city street light without their permission. We've laughed about this all day long.
Kim and I went to lunch to try to find a really neat ornament for the ornament swap this afternoon after work. We went to four different places (all with potpurri and candles) before finally finding some good ones at Pier 1. Both of us came out sneezing and our heads all stopped up from the smells. Don't they realize that some people are allergic to all those scents? Last night, I got dizzy from smelling the Cascade in the dishwasher. I really thought I was going to have one of those dizzy/vomiting episodes, but I didn't. Thank You Lord for taking care of me. I have sneezed and coughed all afternoon.
Daddy called before lunch and said he needed me to go buy groceries for him sometime today. Since I had already made arrangements with Kim for lunch, I told him I'd go after work. I asked my boss if I could get off 30 minutes early so I could buy his groceries and have enough time to get back for the ornament swap. He said to go. Daddy needed everything. Since he's been sick, he didn't want any groceries last month - only soup. But it was a full cart today. I got all the groceries in and sat down for a short visit. He gave me the cutest thing to give to Hope and Trent. It's a dog and cat singing Christmas carols. It is so cute. He bought it at the VFW from a VietNam vet who sells stuff like that and makes a pretty good living doing it. He travels all over selling stuff out of his van.
After visiting with Daddy, I rushed back to the office for the ornament swap. I was only 25 minutes late and there was still a line waiting to get food, so I didn't miss anything. We had soup, salad and lasagna from Olive Garden. Tina baked a banana cake and a coconut cake. The banana cake was so good. After eating, we played the game where you draw numbers and when your number is called out, you pick a package or take an ornament from somebody who has already opened one. It's a lot of fun and nobody seems to get mad or anything like that. I picked a package that had two blown glass bells with a reindeer in one and a tree in another one - all blown glass. They were very pretty. The very last person to draw took it away from me and I got a beautiful Robert Stanley blown glass snowman. Truth be told; the snowman is more up my alley. I love the blown glass ornaments and have been trying to collect at least one each year. He is way too heavy for my little tree, but I hung him from the valance and he looks very pretty up there. I got home around 8:15. Vance is feeling better, but he hurt his back this morning when he bent down to kiss me goodbye. I just don't see how he's going to be able to hold up laying flooring all by himself. I may take the mornings off to help him and go in to work after lunch to do my timesheets the week after Christmas. We should be able to get the living room done and possibly do the hallway. Just depends on how much it ends up costing.
I need to upload some photos from my camera, so I'll say Good Night and God Bless........
Catch you all later.

Sleepy Sunday
It's turning warm again. Our weather is so unpredictable. I was looking at my Photographica buddies' pictures last night and a lot of them have beautiful snow pictures. Makes me want to see something like that - not live there, just visit. I would love to take pictures of the snow. That only happens here about every 10 years or so. I think I've only seen snow here four times in my life. And only a couple of times where it lasted more than a few hours.
Went to church this morning. Mrs. Sandi preached and it was really good. Had a great altar call. I really got ministered to. Trent was excited about his toboggins. He really needs a lot of prayer. I really think the medicine he was taking has affected his personality. I'm praying the new stuff will kick in and start helping him calm down. Tabitha and I have decided to pray for him at the altar every service and keep him lifted up to the Lord. Mrs. Ruth did that and Joey finally got free from the ADHD. Kyle's family did that and he was healed of autism. He graduated with honors last year. We've seen God do many miracles with children and we're believing for a miracle for Trent.
I didn't take my usual Sunday nap and I've been tired all day. Cleaned out the refrigerator and washed clothes instead. Vance is still not feeling too good. Tabitha called to tell me they think they have found a house. It will need some work on it, but they are excited about doing some things themselves. It is down the street from my mother, so that's not too far away. Trent will probably be going to Hiland Park School where Angie can keep an eye on him. Trent asked if I had any glitter. He wants to make jingle bell necklaces to give to everybody in his class and he wants them to be glittery. Of course, I had three different kinds. He wants to try the blue and red. I carried it over to them so he could get started on them. Hope decided to put all the jingle bells in my pockets and pour glitter in there with them. I had blue glitter all over me. :) She still has a bit of a cough.
I went to the store to get NyQuil for Vance and look for ornament hooks. None at Winn-Dixie or Dollar General. Decided I would just have to go to Target tomorrow when I was driving by CVS. Stopped in there and found some! Finished decorating the tree. Had to tie it up to the valance cause it was leaning. Didn't want it to topple over and fall off the table.
Since I didn't get my nap, I'm really tired. I think I will go to bed now. Good night and God bless.....

Saturday Shopping Madness
It was cold again this morning, but Vance went to play golf anyway. I did a little decorating on the tree. This tree is not like my usual trees. There are no homemade ornaments, no flowers stuck between the limbs... All the ornaments are brand new and very small because the tree is small and I'm afraid anything bigger will break the limbs.
Penny called and we decided to go shopping together. We went to Chili's first to eat, since it was already 12:30. We chose Chili's cause Tiffaney was working there. We had to wait for a table and we didn't get to sit in her section, but she came over and talked to us several times while we were there. I had the Southwestern Eggrolls. I really like them. Swayde saw the Molten Chocolate dessert and asked for it, so we got one to share. Shouldn't have done that! We were already full and that just pushed us over the top. We were miserable!!
We went to Boaters World to buy a present for Penny's boyfriend, then to Target. She needed makeup and I wanted to buy a couple of toboggens for Trent. I noticed he didn't have any when I took him to school the other day. That's all I got. I'm just not in the mood to shop and I have no idea what to get anybody.
Came home and Vance got home right after me. He said he got really cold out there the first couple of hours. I mentioned that Penny thought she saw some very tiny Christmas lights at Home Depot and he told me to go get some. I went and found some, then stopped by Dollar General and bought some more ornaments, but forgot to buy ornament hooks. Looked through my old ornaments, but most of the ones in there were rusty. I guess I'll have to buy hooks tomorrow. I put the lights on the tree and they look good. It finally looks like a Christmas tree. I put all the big glass ornaments in a bowl with lights in it and in a cake dome turned upside down to load and then flipped. Looks pretty festive. Like I said before, it's not my usual decorating.
Vance wasn't feeling good, so I cooked grits and eggs and he went to bed. I think he got too cold today. I watched a couple more Christmas movies. I really like the Christmas movies this year.
Guess I better stop now and go to bed.

BRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!
I think winter has finally arrived in sunny Florida. It was really cold this morning when I headed to work. My husband always goes outside about 5 minutes before he's going to leave and cranks up his truck so it will be warming up inside. Not me. I don't have time for that extra 5 minutes. I get dressed and run out the door heading to work. So, it takes about 10 minutes before the inside of my car gets close to warm. Let's put it this way - the bottled water in my car was still like ice water when I got to work. I drove with a heavy coat and gloves on.
We're lucky in my office. It has it's own heating/air conditioning unit, so we can control the temperature. The unit that heats and cools the other two buildings is controlled from Pensacola. Yeah, 100 miles away. When I got to Kim's office, it was freezing. I think it was warmer outside. She had to call Pensacola and get them to regulate the system. That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. It took a couple of hours before it got warm enough in there to remove your coat. My nose was frozen just standing in her office waiting to talk to my boss. As soon as I got my work from him, I hurried to my office where it was warm. And believe it or not, we didn't even have our heat on. Our office must be well insulated, cause we haven't turned the heat on at all.
Daddy and I changed our place to go for lunch. He was in the mood for seafood, so we went to Rodeo's. We both ordered the seafood sampler and it was very good.
A lot of people are taking vacation now, so there aren't too many left to work. We are already shorthanded and this just makes it worse. I've been doing ARMS the past two or three weeks, so that keeps me pretty busy and tied down to my computer.
I went by Winn-Dixie and got one of those Norfolk Island Pines. I don't know if it will hold the weight of the lights or not. I may have to just wrap the lights around the bottom of the pot. Or, I might string them from the window in a triangle pattern to showcase the tree in the center. I will work on it tomorrow.
It is supposed to be real cold again tonight, so I'll probably stay home tomorrow. Vance still plans to go play golf. I personally think he's out of his mind, but what do I know?
It's that time again and I'm getting sleepy.

18 days til Christmas!
Am I ready for Christmas? Of course not! I've been wanting to put up a tree, but we are planning to put in flooring starting the day after Christmas. That would mean taking down the tree on Christmas Day and I know I'll be too tired for that. I even bought some new ornaments last Saturday.
I was at Winn-Dixie this afternoon buying some groceries for my Dad and I saw some Norfolk Island Pines for $19.99. Just the right size to put up on the table in front of our window. They even have glitter already on them. If I put a strand of lights and just a few ornaments I can have a Christmas tree that I won't have to disassemble on Christmas Day. I think I'll go back tomorrow and buy one.
This week has been a busy one for me. On Monday, I worked half a day, then had to take my Mom to the hospital to have a couple of alleged skin cancers cut off. She had to be there at 12:00 noon, but they didn't do the surgery until 4:00. Praise God, all went well and the two places were cancer-free. The doctor (a plastic surgeon) cut huge amounts out just to be sure. Both places took 10-12 stitches - a cut of about 2 inches. Daddy called to see if I would pick up his medicine, but we didn't get out of the hospital until 5:00 and it was almost 7:00 when I headed for home. I told him we would do it Tuesday morning when I took him for bloodwork (which I had almost forgotten about).
Tuesday morning when I was getting ready to go pick up Daddy, Tabitha called to see if I could take Trent to school. He had missed the bus, she was on her way to school, Chad was home with Hope who was sick and still asleep. I was frazzeled when she called and felt like I was short with her. That bothered me all day. I got Trent to school and had time to kill before I picked up Daddy. I finally made it to work at 10:15. On the way home, I called and apologized to Tabitha. She said I wasn't short with her, but I still felt bad.
Wednesday safety meeting was cancelled and rescheduled till today. So, I didn't have to rush to get to work. That was a blessing. I have this idea for a Christmas photo for Vance and me, so I went to Michael's at lunch looking for mistletoe. The idea is to get Vance to put on a Santa hat, hold the mistletoe over my head and take the picture while we are kissing. He doesn't like to have his picture made, so I thought this would be a good way to do it. You'll only see us in profile, so he won't have to pretend to smile. She agreed to it, but now I've got to find mistletoe. Michael's didn't even have fake mistletoe. But, I found out that one of the guys at work always gets some real mistletoe, so I called him. He said he planned on going some afternoon this week and he'd bring me some. That will be great. Maybe I can get the picture done this weekend and get the cards made and mailed out. I also want to get with Chad and Tabitha and see if I can't do one with them - Chad wearing the Santa hat kissing Tabitha while Trent and Hope are kneeling at their feet looking up at them. I'll title it "I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus...." I think it will be cute. Sometimes I amaze myself at the ideas I come up with. Usually I come up with ideas, but never follow through with them.
Chad and Tabitha are looking for a house to buy. They had called a Realtor to check on one and the Realtor took it upon herself to become their Realtor and show them houses (and collect the bonus when it sold). But, get this - she wanted them to go out and find the houses and call her to make arrangements to show the house to them. I told Tabitha that I knew several agents and I'd hook them up with one who would actually get out there and look for them. Off the top of my head, I came up with four names. But, one kept popping into my head all day. It was a woman I used to go to church with. I didn't have a clue if she was still in the business or where she worked. I looked her up in the phone book and there was only one person listed with her last name, so I took a chance and called. Left a message "This is Pat Rutherford. If this is the Linda that I used to go to church with, please give me a call." She called back while I was in church, so I called her back. She is a wonderful Christian lady and we used to pray together and she remembered Chad right away. She said she would be thrilled to search for them. She also said she would be praying for them to find the right house. That's what I like about her. She prays before she shows the houses that God would reveal to them if it is the right one or not. I called Chad and they went and looked at one today. It would have been perfect if the people had not lied when they wrote up the listing. They said it was on an acre of land with two acres beside it for sale, that there was a workshop on the lot and that the entire property was fenced. The only thing that was true about the listing was that they had remodeled the house. The driveway going to the house just happens to be on the other property that's for sale so you would have to either build a bridge over this big deep ditch to get to the house, or buy that lot, too. The workshop just happens to be on the other property and the yard is not fenced. Chad was very disappointed cause the price was right up their alley. But, he's a lot like his mama - you don't lie to him. That turns him off real quick. But, I believe the right house is out there and God will lead them to it. I'm believing it is a newer house that somebody has to get rid of for just what it cost to build it.
Today, we had the safety meeting that was actually a breakfast honoring us for going another 90 days without an accident. We've already managed a full 365, now we're starting over for our second year. It was very good food. I had a hair appointment at lunch and I told Marsha to cut my hair in layers again and I'd let it go curly again for awhile. Just to keep it in good health. I really don't like curly hair, but I was born with it, so I guess I should make the best of it. To me, it adds 10 years to my age and I hate that. I'm old enough without adding years.
Well, I guess I better get to bed. It's almost 11:00pm.
